Indian Institute of Educational Theatre, in collaboration with The Academy Trust, is hosting an engaging “Mind-to-Mind” session titled “New Horizons on Old Worlds: Exciting Scenarios from Archaeological Science” in Mysuru.

The programme will be held on March 22 at 11 a.m. at the Indian Institute of Educational Theatre, Hardwicke School campus on JLB Road.

The session will feature Dr. C. V. Sharada, an archaeozoologist and environmental archaeologist, currently serves as Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology in Gandhinagar.

A press release said Dr. Sharada will share insights from her extensive expeditions and her evolution as an archaeological scientist. The talk will offer a fascinating glimpse into her interdisciplinary work, highlighting connections between archaeology and natural sciences, according to a press release.

Attendees will gain exposure to emerging and lesser-known opportunities in study, research, career advancement, and even amateur pursuits in this unique field.

As a faculty member associated with the Archaeological Sciences Centre at IIT Gandhinagar, Dr. Sharada leads the “Interspecies Research Network,” a multidisciplinary research group exploring areas such as zooarchaeology, human-animal studies, cultural studies, multispecies anthropology, and forensic bio-geoarchaeology, the release said.

She is also affiliated with the Kiran C. Patel Centre for Sustainable Development, contributing to research at the intersection of ecology, culture, and sustainability.

“The session promises to be intellectually stimulating, offering participants a rare opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and evolving perspectives in archaeological science,” the release said.
