By combining on-ground property data, GPS tagging and drone imagery, officials identified cases where property owners had paid less tax, on average, over the past five years. | Photo Credit: SUDHAKARA JAIN The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has detected property tax underpayment amounting to around ₹318 crore from 13,600 properties during the second round of its GPS-based property survey and special house-to-house verification. In its first phase, the authority had detected property tax evasion amounting to around ₹370 crore covering about 10,000 properties across the city. The total recovery process now covers 23,600 properties involving about ₹688 crore.
