Schoolchildren, teachers given tips on fire prevention

A team of firefighters of Tiruchi station of the Fire and Rescue Services conducted a fire prevention awareness programme at the Corporation Middle School at Pirattiyur here recently.  Possible reasons for outbreak of fire, the ways to prevent fire, and the precautionary measures to be taken during emergencies were driven home to the students and teachers during the programme.

The firefighters led by District Fire Officer S. Vinod demonstrated the ways of using fire fighting equipment and explained to the students the safety measures. A quiz competition was held for the students as part of awareness creation, a release said.
