The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths arrested a Superintendent in the Office of the Commissioner and Director of School Education, Saifabad, and a senior assistant in the District Educational Officer’s (DEO) office in Rangareddy district while accepting a bribe of ₹70,000 on Thursday (February 19, 2026). The accused official, identified as Sangeena Phaniraj, Superintendent (General), was trapped by the ACB City Range-I officials. He demanded and accepted ₹70,000 from a complainant through Gummidala Sridhar, a senior assistant. The bribe was sought for processing the complainant school’s CBSE No Objection Certificate for the academic year 2026–27 and forwarding the file to higher authorities. ACB officials said the tainted bribe amount of ₹70,000 was recovered and Both accused were produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation. The ACB urged public to report instances of bribery by public servants by calling toll-free number 1064 and informed that the identity of complainants will be kept confidential.
