BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and other party leaders at the Ugadi celebrations held at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday. Shortcomings in governance and administrative failures continue, public dissatisfaction could grow, potentially strengthening the Opposition significantly and giving scope to it to rise as a credible alternative force, according to the astrological forecast of renowned scholars. Renowned scholars Mrutyunjaya Sharma and Phanindra Sharma presented the annual forecast and shared their views at the Sri Parabhava Nama Samvatsara Ugadi Panchanga Sravanam held at Telangana Bhavan on the occasion of Ugadi. The programme was attended BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao apart from MLAs, MLCs, MPs and senior leaders. The scholars also expressed concern that ongoing changes in the education policy could adversely affect students and possibly lead youth astray. If corrective measures are not taken, unemployment could increase further, they cautioned. On the positive side, the scholars predicted favourable rainfall during the year, leading to full reservoirs and tanks. Crops such as paddy, cotton and maize are likely to yield well, and incidents of farmers’ suicides may decline. They also forecast a possible rise in the prices of gold, silver and foodgrains, while vegetable prices may see some reduction. The scholars clarified that the impact of the solar and lunar eclipses this year would not significantly affect India.
