Residents have raised concern that saplings planted on newly constructed medians on key stretches of Coimbatore city are drying up due to lack of maintenance.

The Coimbatore Corporation has taken up median development works on Dr. Balasundaram Road, where a 495-metre stretch is being developed at a cost of ₹43.50 lakh. On Pollachi Road, around two km of the planned 2.5-km median has been completed, with ₹22.6 lakh allocated. On Masakalipalayam Road, a 575-metre median is being developed at a cost of ₹45 lakh.
