The year 2025-26 marked a significant milestone for Sankar Foundation, with a record 35,171 eye surgeries performed and 2.2 lakh outpatients screened. With this, the Foundation achieved a historic cumulative total of 5,10,246 eye surgeries since its inception in 1997, as of March 2026. Chairman M. Ramdas and Managing Trustee A. Krishna Kumar said the achievement reflects the skill and perseverance of the medical teams, as well as the trust and support of partners and beneficiaries. They said it reinforces the Foundation’s mission to eliminate avoidable blindness and transform lives through restored vision, and commended the doctors, paramedical staff and workforce for their contribution.
