The family of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali issued a statement on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after some media reports claimed that he was hospitalised after suffering a heart attack.

Taking to Instagram, his family said in the statement, “Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is doing absolutely fine. He has gone in for a routine medical check-up and there is no cause for concern. We sincerely appreciate the love, care, and concern shown by everyone. Thank you for your continued support and warm wishes.”

The filmmaker celebrated his 63rd birthday on Tuesday and some reports claimed that he had suffered heart attack after which he was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital.

Bhansali, known for making larger-than-life epic dramas like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Gangubai Kathiawadi and the OTT series Heeramandi, is currently working on his next film, Love and War. Presently under production, the period-drama stars Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the lead.
