Samsani Srinivasa Rao was unanimously re-elected as the State president of the Andhra Pradesh Government Vehicles Drivers’ Central Association for a second term on Sunday (March 22).

The elections were held at the State Office in Tadepalli in the presence of representatives from all 13 districts. The process was conducted under the supervision of election officer T.V. Phani Perraju, who is also State president of the A.P. Cooperative Service Association, while S. Malleswara Rao served as election observer.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao, who works as a driver in the Endowments Department in Kakinada district, was elected unanimously during the nomination process attended by district president and State executive members.

At the felicitation meeting held after the elections, chief guest Boppuraju Venkateswarlu, chairperson of A.P. JAC Amaravati and president of A.P. Revenue Services Association, lauded the unity of the drivers’ union. He described the association as a “strong pillar” of the A.P. JAC and lauded the unanimous election of Srinivasa Rao.

Venkateswarlu assured continued support to drivers and government employees, stating that efforts would be made to address pending issues such as the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), interim relief (IR), and pending dearness allowance (DA). He said the government would be urged to appoint a PRC and resolve long-pending financial demands by coordinating with various employees associations.

Mr. Phani Perraju thanked leaders from all districts for ensuring smooth conduct of the elections and called for continued cooperation between the drivers’ association and the A.P. JAC Amaravati. Several leaders, including B. Kishore Kumar and V. Arlaiah, attended the event.
