In a high-stakes selection meeting held on Tuesday, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) is believed to have officially recommended Subhasis Sengupta as the next Director (operations) of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, according to information received by The Hindu from reliable sources. The search for a new operational head drew a competitive group of 12 senior candidates from across India’s top Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Mr. Sengupta, who is currently the Chief General Manager (projects) at SAIL’s Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP), was chosen over the others, sources added.
