Sai Prasad on Saturday assumed charge as Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh at the State Secretariat, succeeding K. Vijayanand, who retired from service the same day. Mr. Sai Prasad took over the reins at 11.33 a.m. after a special religious ceremony and blessings from priests of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devasthanam. Senior officials, including Special Chief Secretaries S.S. Rawat and M.T. Krishna Babu, Ex Officio Special Chief Secretary B. Rajasekhar, and Principal Secretaries Syamala Rao, Mukesh Kumar Meena and Kanthilal Dande, were present on the occasion. Secretaries, heads of departments, representatives of various employee unions, and Chairman of the State 20-Point Programme Implementation Committee Lanka Dinakar, along with heads of several corporations, extended their greetings and presented bouquets to the new Chief Secretary. A 1991-batch IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, Mr. Sai Prasad is an M.Tech graduate. He began his career as Assistant Collector in Warangal and later served in key positions, including Assistant Collector in Paderu, Commissioner of Guntur Municipal Corporation, Joint Collector of Kadapa, and Collector of Kurnool and Chittoor districts.
