The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP), Vijayawada will conduct State-level selections for the national tribal sports competition, at the District Sports Authority, Kakinada on January 8 from 9 a.m. June Gallyot, District Sports Development Officer, District Sports Authority (DSA) Visakhapatnam said that the government of India has issued a notification to organise a national tribal sports competition in the open age category under Khelo India Tribal Games – 2026 for the first time to bring out talent among tribal sportspersons. The SAAP would conduct State level selections in open age category for men and women in events across athletics, archery, swimming, weightlifting, wrestling, hockey, and football. Interested tribal athletes from Visakhapatnam can participate in the selections, she said. Candidates appearing for the selections will not be provided any TA or DA. Candidates must produce ST certificate issued by the State government, residence certificate issued by the State government, two passport size photos and a copy of their Aadhaar card.
