A special team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized unaccounted cash and gold worth ₹69.23 lakh from a passenger at Perambur Railway Station on Thursday (March 12, 2026). The RPF said, the passenger, Vasanth Kumar (36), was intercepted on the first platform after arriving from Bengaluru on the K.S.R. Bengaluru – Danapur Express. While inspecting his shoulder bag, officials found ₹1,19,000 in cash and 450 grams of gold biscuits and ornaments (valued at approximately ₹68,04,000).
