A video showing a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable restraining a youth by pinning him to the ground and kneeling on his neck at Tiruvottiyur railway station has gone viral on social media, triggering an internal inquiry. According to RPF sources, officials have questioned the constable involved — whose identity has not been disclosed — over allegations of manhandling the youth. A departmental inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident. The episode reportedly took place on February 11. The youth, said to be intoxicated, travelled without a valid ticket in a first-class compartment. When the Gummidipoondi-bound train reached Tiruvottiyur, a ticket examiner detected the violation and handed the passenger over to RPF personnel. During questioning, the youth allegedly behaved aggressively. Officials said the RPF staff forced him onto the platform while trying to control him. The viral video shows one constable pressing the youth down and kneeling on his neck during the altercation.
