The Rotary Clubs across the world would continue with their surveillance mechanism, awareness initiatives and administer Pulse Polio vaccine drops to children aged upto 5, said Rotary International (RI) president elect (2026-27) Olayinka Hakeem Babalola here on Wednesday. Speaking to media persons, he said polio was eradicated 99.99% across the globe. Many countries, including India, had achieved this distinction. Some nations like Afghanistan and Pakistan had polio cases. Hence, the Rotarians would continue to educate the people about the polio virus and the need to totally eradicate it. “We will keep immunising babies,” he stressed.
