The Rotary Club of Chennai Kilpauk has been supporting Irukkam Village in Pulicat for more than 15 years. This Pongal, as in every year, the villagers received rice, dal and other groceries. Secretary PCR Suresh and founding member Hari Ratan, along with fellow Rotarians, visited and spent time with the families. They also support the education and transportation of schoolchildren. They said they were happy to see two first-time graduates, including an engineer and an IAS aspirant, in this hamlet of more than 1,000 people.
