With temperatures soaring across the State, the Animal Husbandry department has issued a set of precautionary guidelines to safeguard livestock from heat-related illnesses. Officials warn that, much like humans, animals are vulnerable to extreme heat, and conditions such as heatstroke can lead to severe health complications and even death if not addressed promptly.

As a preventive measure, livestock owners are advised to ensure continuous access to clean drinking water throughout the day. Animals should not be tethered under direct sunlight during peak summer conditions. Transportation of animals should be limited to early morning and late evening hours to avoid heat stress.
