Over 200 employees of the Revenue Administration and Disaster Management Department on Tuesday staged a protest near the Panchayat Union Office in Dindigul demanding that their nine point charter of demands be fulfilled.

The employees included village assistants, surveyors, revenue officers, office assistants, taluk level officials and others. They staged a road blockade urging the Tamil Nadu government to fulfil their demands.

The employees demanded a special law be enacted to ensure the safety and the security of employees. The other demands also included a better salary for the employees. They said that they would intensify their protests and go on an indefinite strike if the Tamil Nadu government did not fulfil their charter of demands. The police detained the protesters.
