Revanth inaugurates Siddipet district jail that houses school, library, legal aid clinic

A new jail was inaugurated at Ensanpalli village in Siddipet by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday, marking an upgradation of the existing sub jail into a full fledged correctional facility.

The jail has been constructed in over 32 acres with an authorised capacity of 415 inmates, including a separate barrack for 50 women. The facility includes an administrative block, high security enclosure, hospital, reception and visitors’ areas, kitchen and dining facilities, space for workshops, and dedicated spaces for education and rehabilitation such as a school, library and legal aid clinic.

Officials said that the infrastructure has been designed with modern security features, including surveillance systems, watchtowers and secure perimeter walls, along with residential quarters for staff.

A Swastik model high-security barrack has also been incorporated to improve surveillance and inmate management. The government has sanctioned 58 posts for the jail, taking the total staff strength to 66. The project was carried out under the supervision of the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services Soumya Mishra.
