The road, which runs from Carmel Nagar Church to Annapuram, serves as the main access route for over 500 families in the area. They said that about a year ago, some persons claiming ownership of the land fenced off the pathway with barbed wire, restricting public access. Following complaints, the residents were allowed to use an alternative route slightly away from the original pathway. They were also assured that the original road would be maintained when the land was developed into house sites.
