Residents affected by Cyclone Gaja threaten to boycott polls over incomplete houses in Vedaranyam

Residents of Gandhi Nagar in Vedaranyam have announced that they will boycott the forthcoming Assembly elections as the houses sanctioned to them after Cyclone Gaja remain incomplete.

Cyclone Gaja, which made landfall in 2018, had devastated large parts of Nagapattinam district, leaving many families homeless. The government, along with voluntary organisations, had announced housing assistance for the affected.
