A 35-year-old remand prisoner died on Thursday after he was admitted to the Government Stanley Hospital due to difficulty in breathing. The deceased, Vasanthakumar, of Elephant Gate, was arrested on April 5 for creating a nuisance under the influence of alcohol. He was remanded in judicial custody and lodged at Puzhal prison.
