Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) general secretary Chanagani Dayakar on Saturday said the State Budget for 2026-27 gives major priority to education, healthcare, and welfare, reflecting the government’s commitment towards inclusive development under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Mr. Dayakar said the Budget marks a clear shift from the policies of the previous BRS regime, which, according to him, neglected welfare and social sectors. Taking aim at BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, Dayakar stated that instead of criticising the Budget, Mr. Rao should introspect on the previous government led by them. He alleged that during the BRS rule, sectors like education and healthcare were sidelined, with extensive privatisation weakening public systems. He appealed to BRS leaders to avoid habitual criticism, saying that the party had no moral ground to oppose the Budget after years of sidelining public welfare sectors. Mr. Dayakar said that since Mr. Revanth Reddy assumed office, the government has been focused on reviving welfare programmes, rebuilding public institutions, and laying a strong administrative foundation for Telangana’s future. Highlighting provisions in the Budget, Mr. Dayakar said the Congress government has prioritised agriculture, aiming to protect farmers’ interests.
