Real estate dealer arrested for defrauding film company of over ₹20 crore

The Tambaram Police have arrested real estate dealer, EVP Santosh Reddy for allegedly defrauding Vels Film International of approximately ₹22 crore. 

Tambaram Police said a complaint was filed by Vels Film International against Santosh Reddy of the EVP group and his associates.

The complaint alleges that they entered into an agreement regarding the management of approximately 34.75 acres of land in the Sholinganallur area, regarding the management of approximately 34.75 acres of land in the Sholinganallur area, concerning the Vels Trade and Convention Center property, which comprises studios, theaters, and guesthouses located there.

Based on this, the Vels company paid ₹15 crore and again ₹6.81 crore. Later, upon examining the documents provided by Santosh Reddy, it was discovered to be without any proper completion certificates and necessary permits thereby defrauding the film company. 

Based on their complaint, the Tambaram Central Crime Branch police arrested Santosh Reddy.
