Ranipet Superintendent of Police Ayman Jamal has declared that the district would be a no-fly zone on Monday (February 9, 2026), when Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will visit the region. He will inaugurate the district’s first car manufacturing plant at the SIPCOT complex at Panapakkam village near Walajah town. According to a press release, all individuals and civic agencies are prohibited from flying any non-conventional aerial objects in the district without any prior permission on the said day. The district police will destroy or confiscate any unmanned aerial vehicles that violate the restrictions. Further, those found in violation of the no-fly order will be charged. It has been informed that the approval for using drones by any operator or civic/government agency is governed by guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the release said.
