Ramanathapuram DEO suspends grievance meetings, sets cash carrying limits

Following enforcement of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Tamil Nadu from Sunday, District Election Officers in Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga has put into effect certain rules and regulations including suspension of the weekly grievance redress meeting.

As per the Ramanathapuram DEO Simranjeet Singh Kahlon’s press statement, in the four Assembly Constituencies in Ramanathapuram District – Paramakudi (Reserved), Tiruvadanai, Ramanathapuram, and Mudukulathur – a total of 72 surveillance teams have been formed. This would include 12 Flying Squads and 12 Static Surveillance Teams (3 teams per constituency) operating 24 hours a day.
