File | Photo Credit: Bijoy Ghosh Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, on Tuesday (March 17, 2026), debunked the claims of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) general secretary (election campaign management) Aadhav Arjuna, who recently stated that the actor refrained from entering politics due to a threat from the DMK. “Time won’t speak, but it waits and gives its answer,” Mr. Rajinikanth said. During a protest organised by the TVK in Chennai on March 12, Mr. Arjuna claimed: “The DMK family threatened Mr. Rajinikanth and ensured that he did not enter politics.” Aadhav Arjuna’s claims untrue: Rajinikanth In a statement, Mr. Rajinikanth said the remarks by Mr. Arjuna were not true. The actor also thanked political leaders who condemned Aadhav Arjuna and voiced their support for him (Rajinikanth), including AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan, Tamil Nadu Minister for Natural Resources S. Regupathy, and Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran. He also thanked VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan, AIADMK leader S.P. Velumani, former State president of BJP K. Annamalai, BJP leader and former associate of the actor Arjunamoorthy, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss, TMC (M) president G.K. Vasan, TMMK leader John Pandian, and others. On December 3, 2020, Mr. Rajinikanth announced his political entry. However, later that month, in a three-page statement, he cited the COVID-19 pandemic and his health condition to make an exit without entering politics.
