Three inter-State weekly express trains via Tiruchi have been regularised by the railway administration. They are the Ernakulam Junction-Velankanni-Ernakulam Junction Express, Hyderabad-Kanniyakumari-Hyderabad and Kacheguda-Tuticorin-Kacheguda Express.

The regular service of the Ernakulam Junction-Velankanni Weekly Express (16363) commenced with effect from March 18 and the regular service of the Velankanni-Ernakulam Junction Express (16364) commenced on March 19. 

The Ernakulam Junction-Velankanni Express (16363) will leave Ernakulam Junction at 11.50 p.m. on Wednesday and reach Velankanni on Thursday at 5.35 p.m. In the return direction, the Velankanni-Ernakulam Junction Express (16364) will leave Velankanni at 7.45 p.m. on Thursday and reach Ernakulam at 11.55 a.m. on Friday.

The regular service of the Hyderabad-Kanniyakumari Express will come into effect from April 1 from Hyderabad and from Kanniyakumari with effect from April 3. The Hyderabad-Kanniyakumari Express (17069) will leave Hyderabad on Wednesday at 4.45 p.m. and reach Kanniyakumari at 2.30 a.m. on Friday.  In the return direction, the train ( 17070) will leave Kanniyakumari on Friday at 5.15 a.m. and reach Hyderabad at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday. 
The regular service of the Kacheguda-Tuticorin Express will commence from Kacheguda with effect from April 6 and from Tuticorin from April 8. The Kacheguda-Tuticorin Express (17615) will leave Kacheguda on Monday at 3 p.m. and reach Tuticorin at 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday. In the return direction, the train (17616) will leave Tuticorin at 7.40 a.m. on Wednesday and reach Kacheguda at 1.25 p.m. on Thursday.  The Hyderabad-Kanniyakumari-Hyderabad and Kacheguda-Tuticorin-Kacheguda Express trains will be operated through the mainline section passing via Thanjavur and Kumbakonam, according to a press release from the Tiruchi Division.
