South Central Railway (SCR) general manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava has directed officers to take measures to prevent smoking and consumption of liquor in moving trains and within the railway premises. In a review meeting held online on safety with Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and other divisions on Monday, the GM asked the officers to conduct safety drives and inspections regularly. Mr. Srivastava reviewed the fire safety precautions and maintenance of equipment to check fire accidents. He also took stock of the CCTV cameras installed at railway stations, goods sheds and non-interlocked level crossings (railway gates). The GM instructed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and on-duty staff to be vigilant to ensure passenger safety.
