Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), Yelahanka, which manufactures cast wheels, forged axles, and wheelsets, on Thursday said during the financial year 2025–26, it exceeded production targets set by the Railway Board across all categories and achieved a performance by surpassing all previous production records across its core product segments — Wheels, Axles, and Wheelsets. According to a RWF statement, wheel production reached an all-time high of 2,10,026 wheels, compared to 2,01,150 wheels in the previous year, registering a 4% growth. Its axle production witnessed a surge, with output increasing to 1,22,000 axles, reflecting an impressive 30% growth over the previous year. The company produced 1,20,100 wheelsets in the fiscal, up from 98,350 wheelsets in the previous year, marking a robust 22% growth. The company said it has exceeded the production targets set by the Railway Board across all product categories. “Notably, these achievements were realised despite challenges such as disruptions in commercial fuel (gases) supply arising from geopolitical disturbances in West Asia,’’ the firm said in a communique.
