Actor Surabhi Lakshmi opened the Ragam-2026 annual cultural festival at the National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C) on Thursday. The three-day event would draw the participation of over 10,000 students in around 100 events. According to the organisers, performances by popular artistes would be part of the fest being hosted every year to provide a platform for young talent from diverse backgrounds to showcase their abilities and engage in cultural exchange. NIT-C Director Prasad Krishna presided over the inaugural ceremony. Dean (students’ welfare) Satyananda Panda and Registrar in-charge Sunil Jacob John were present.
