Quarrying of rough stones: 12 locations identified in govt. poromboke lands across Tiruppur district

The district administration has invited tender applications for e-auction of quarry sites for mining rough stones at 12 locations across the district.

The auction will be carried out as per Section 15 of Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) 1957, whereby State Governments are empowered to make rules regarding minor minerals and specific government orders can be issued by the Natural Resources Department of Tamil Nadu, amending the

Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1959, a press release said.

Prospective participants are required to download applications from https://tntenders.gov.in, and submit the filled-in applications through e-portal.

Last date for submitting e-application is February 27. The e-auction dates will be made known later, the release said.

The locations of quarry sites are at Iduvai, Kongur, Kilankundal, Ponnivadi, Madathukulam and Manakadavu. Altogether the cumulative area of the quarry sites measure up to about 22 hectares.
