BJP leader K. Annamalai on Saturday said the INDIA bloc was aiming for power in the Union Territory with the objective of “looting” the territory.

Addressing a gathering during his roadshow for the AINRC and BJP candidates in rural areas, the BJP leader said the Congress always considered Puducherry as an ATM for its leaders in New Delhi. “Again they are eyeing power in Puducherry to loot the territory. Corruption was rampant during the Congress government. The Congress party is only interested in filling their coffers,” the BJP leader said.

Predicting victory for the NDA in the April 9 polls, he said the alliance would return to power under the leadership of AINRC founder and Chief Minsiter N. Rangasamy. “Mr. Rangasamy will become the Chief Minister of Puducherry again. The return of the NDA government will transform Puducherry into next level of development. The territory will witness new development initiatives in the next five years,” he said.

The constituents of the INDIA bloc, Mr. Annamalai said, were fighting against each other in several constituencies. The Congress and the DMK have fielded candidates in six constituencies and the other constituents of the bloc are also fighting against each other, he said

Mr. Annamalai conducted roadshow for NDA candidates at Ossudu, Ariankuppam, Kalapet and Villianur constituencies in Puducherry.
