The State government’s proposal to bifurcate the existing Udayagiri police station into Udayagiri North and Udayagiri South appears to have run into administrative hurdles, with the Home Department declining to create additional posts required for the new station. In a letter dated March 31, 2026, the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, informed the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DGP) that the proposal to create 87 new posts for the proposed Udayagiri North police station cannot be considered.
