MP Rani Srikumar addressing a review meeting in Tenkasi on Friday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT As Assembly election is fast approaching, the progress of development works being implemented in the district with Central funds was reviewed during the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee held here on Friday. Chairing the meeting, MP Rani Srikumar said the officials who were monitoring the execution of the development works in their departments with Central funds should ensure the timely completion of the work while ascertaining stipulated quality. The MP also reviewed the progress and implementation of the State-funded development works and welfare schemes. “The officials should submit monthly report on the progress achieved in each project under implementation. Top priority should be accorded for the timely implementation of drinking water, healthcare and road projects,” Dr. Rani said. District Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore, Superintendent of Police G.S. Madhavan, District Forest Officer R. Rajmohan, Tirunelveli MP C. Robert Bruce and the senior officials of various government departments participated in the meeting.
