The Department of Employment and Training has submitted a report to the State government specifying the locations of government schools where Industrial Training Institutions (ITI) could be established on the campuses, according to official sources.

The government had announced last December that 100 ITIs would be started on the campuses of government high and higher secondary schools, as part of a pilot initiative to expand vocational education.

Government school campuses closer to industrial hubs were identified for the purpose, as one of the parameters of the pilot scheme was to provide skill-training to the learners suiting requirements of local industries.
