Private water tankers found using HMWS&SB logo

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) issued a stern warning against unauthorised use of its official logo by private water tanker operators and advised consumers to book water tankers only by calling the Board on its toll-free number 155313.

Officials said several private tanker owners have been found displaying the Water Board’s logo on their vehicles to falsely suggest that they are part of the government services. It is not only illegal, but misleading and potentially dangerous to public health.

The water supplied by the Board meets official quality standards, while investigations showed that many of these private operators source water from borewells, which is not treated or tested in accordance with the Board’s safety guidelines, and consumption of such untreated water could lead to serious health risks.

The Board initiated enforcement measures and intensified inspections to crack down on the violators. Senior officials said that there will be zero tolerance for misuse of the Board’s name, logo, or identity.

It also advised consumers to book water tankers only through the Board’s number 155313 to ensure safe and purified supply. The Board also encouraged the public to report any unauthorised use of the Board’s logo to curb such fraudulent practice.
