Continuing their crackdown, as part of the Prison Reforms Sankalpa initiative, officials of the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison conducted inspections and recovered four mobile phones, two SIM cards and a charger on Monday night. Based on the recovery of these banned items and their illegal use inside the prison, a case has been registered under Section 42 of the Karnataka Prisons Act, 2022, along with other relevant provisions. An FIR has been lodged at the Parappana Agrahara Police Station, and further legal action is under way. According to the officials, since November 26, 2025, surprise inspections carried out by the officials found 131 mobile phones, 100 SIM cards, and 27 charges along with cash amounting to ₹64,880 and other banned items found in the prison.
