Primary Teachers’ Association-Telangana (PTA-T) has called for a strike and demonstration at the office of the Director of Economics, Statistics & Planning, Khairatabad, on Thursday to demand payment of dues for their duties in the State Caste Census Survey conducted in 2024. According to its office-bearers, for duties performed in the Social, Educational, Employment, and Economic Caste Survey (SEEEPC), the government owes primary teachers and women members a total of about ₹50.90 crore. After repeated requests, the amount was sanctioned. However, even after teachers submitted their bills to local offices, payments were not made. The amount will be deemed lapsed if payments are not completed by March 31. The protest is against the government’s negligent attitude in releasing the pending payments, and it calls for their immediate disbursement, they said.
