Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (January 1, 2026) extended New Year greetings and prayed for peace and happiness in society. “Wishing everyone a wonderful 2026! May the year ahead bring good health and prosperity, with success in your efforts and fulfilment in all that you do,” the Prime Minister said in a post on social media platform X. “Praying for peace and happiness in our society,” the Prime Minister said. Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan said on X, “may the year ahead bring peace, good health, happiness, and prosperity to all, and strengthen our collective resolve to build a stronger and developed India. He also called on President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and offered her his New Year greetings. Ms. Murmu too extended New Year wishes through an X post.
