President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday evening to participate in the International Fleet Review (IFR)-2026 scheduled for February 18 (Wednesday).

The President’s aircraft landed at INS Dega, where she was accorded a warm reception by Governor of Andhra Pradesh S. Abdul Nazeer, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, Mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao, Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat, in-charge Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, and senior officials of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC).

District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad and Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi were present on the occasion along with other senior civil and police officials.

Later in the evening, the President was scheduled to attend a programme hosted by the ENC. On Wednesday, she would participate in the IFR at 9.40 a.m.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Pawan Kalyan arrived in the city by a special flight. He received a grand welcome from district officials and leaders of the Jana Sena Party (JSP).

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was initially scheduled to arrive in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday morning. However, due to prior commitments, his programme was rescheduled, and he was now expected to reach the city on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Dheeraj Singh Thakur and several other VVIPs already reached the city ahead of the prestigious naval event.
