A pregnant woman protested at the Ajith Singh Nagar police station on Tuesday, demanding action from authorities to trace her missing husband following their failure to respond to her earlier complaint.

The complainant, P. Likitha, said that her husband, P. Gnana Pavan Kumar, was missing for the last five months. She lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that her in-laws were behind the disappearance of her husband.

North Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) K. Sravanthi Roy said Ms. Likitha had not lodged any ‘missing’ complaint with the Ajith Singh Nagar police. “If Ms. Likitha had submitted a complaint on the missing of Mr. Pavan Kumar, we will register a case immediately and take action as per the law,” Ms. Roy said.

“Though I lodged a complaint with the Ajith Singh Nagar police, no case has been registered and there is no progress so far,” alleged Ms. Likitha, who is seven months pregnant. “After protesting in front of the police station for some time, the police spoke to me and assured to solve the case,” Likitha told The Hindu on Tuesday.

The couple was married in 2020, and they have a three-year-old boy.
