Pre-Sankrati celebrations were held at Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College in Visakhapatnam on Friday, marking the onset of the harvest festival . The campus was adorned with festive decorations, rangoli designs, and cultural displays reflecting the rich heritage of Sankranti.

The event was graced by the Secretary and Correspondent, G. Madhu Kumar, and the Principal, G. S. K. Chakravarty, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the cultural, social, and agricultural significance of the festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. G. Madhu Kumar emphasised that Sankranti symbolises gratitude to nature, farmers, and the spirit of community living. He noted that such celebrations help students stay connected to Indian traditions while fostering unity and respect for cultural diversity.

Principal Dr. G. S. K. Chakravarty, in his address, underlined the importance of celebrating festivals in educational institutions as they promote holistic development beyond academics. He encouraged students to uphold traditional values while embracing modern education.

Faculty members, staff, and students actively participated in the celebrations, which included cultural activities and traditional customs. The event concluded on a joyful note, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage and nurturing social values among students.
