Praveen Kumar on Saturday inspected the training programme being conducted for the polling officers of all 10 Assembly constituencies in the district. According to a press release, a total of 14,780 officials are undergoing training in Madurai district. They are being given training on the operation of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units and regarding the polling procedures, polling station management, and election regulations. The key responsibilities of the officers include transporting the EVMs, election forms, materials to the polling stations prior to the polling, providing replacement of the machines in case of any malfunction during voting, addressing issues at the polling stations and ensuring safe transportation of EVMs to the counting centres after completion of the polling.
