Officials on poll duty seized ₹15.5 lakh in cash at Nayi Negali check post in Bagalkot district on Thursday. The squad stopped a car at the Nayi Negali cross and carried out a search. The driver was unable to produce proper documents. The cash and the vehicle have been seized, said a release. S.P. Siddharth Goel said that with the model code of conduct in place, check posts had been set up in various places in the district. He has urged the people to produce proper documents and cooperate with the authorities.
