Sukhaputra, to have a parallel offline processing of applications seeking various permission along with the processing through SUVIDA application. This was insisted upon at a consultative meeting organised by the DEO, along with Election Observers for representatives of recognised political parties held on Friday. Citing possible technical issues in uploading the data for online applications seeking various approvals, the representatives sought an offline processing facility. Similarly, the officials were urged to ensure single window system for processing all the applications seeking permissions. “Even after applying through the mobile applications, the candidates/representatives of political parties are asked to personally follow them up with the police, revenue and Public Works Department for public meetings,” they said. The DEO promised to put in place a district-level coordination committee comprising officials from different departments. Besides, they wanted the bank officials to facilitate expeditious processing of applications seeking to open the mandatory bank accounts for candidates. The political parties wanted permission to be granted expeditiously for celebrating the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar. The issue of Tasmac shops and bars also was raised during the meeting. One of the political parties representatives said that the officials should ensure that the Tasmac shops should be allowed to remain open only during the permitted hours. All the Election Observers — Udayan Mishra, Anup Kumar Yadav, Sanjeev Shrivastava (all General Observers), Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia (Police Observer) and Sukhchain Singh, Anil Kumar, Nayanjyothi Nath, Waghmare Jay G (all Expenditure Observers), were present. The officials also discussed about the basic facilities at the polling stations, first-level checking of EVMs, permission required for poll-related advertisements. District Revenue Officer R. Ananthi, Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers were also present.
