Anil Kumar of Kadapa district, who were trapped by ACB officers on Monday. | Photo Credit: HANDOUT Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Kadapa Range, caught Pulivendula Rural Circle Inspector (CI) and Simhadripuram Sub-Inspector (SI) while they were allegedly accepting ₹1.5 lakh bribe from a two-wheeler consultancy owner. The complainant purchased a bike from a person, who was allegedly a chain snatcher. Alleging that the complainant bought a vehicle which was used for offences, CI Nallapalli Venkata Ramana and the SI Dasari Anil Kumar threatened the victim to implicate his name in the snatching cases. The two officers reportedly demanded a bribe of ₹7 lakh intitally, later reducing it to ₹3.5 lakh to withhold filing a case against him. After alreading accepted ₹50,000 bribe, the CI and SI demanded the remaining amount, threatening to implicate him in the snatching case if he failed to pay. The SI was caught red handed on Monday at Simhadripuram police station while allegedly accepting ₹1.5 lakh bribe, at the instigation of the CI. The accused officers would be produced in ACB Special Court in Kurnool, the ACB officials said in a press release.
