File | Photo Credit: PTI The denial to register an FIR in the case of the death of NCP leader Ajit Pawar raises suspicion, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray said on Friday (February 27, 2026). He was referring to the tragic demise of NCP leader Ajit Pawar in an air crash, after which Mr Pawar’s nephew and NCP SP MLA Rohit Pawar had unsuccessfully tried to register an FIR in the matter. Rohit Pawar met Raj Thackeray on Friday. He thereafter met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and submitted three applications to him. One of the applications has sought a thorough probe in Ajit Pawar’s death.
