The Hutti Police on Friday registered a case against an unknown motorcyclist after finding explosive cartridges near the main gate of Hutti Gold Mines in Hutti village of Lingsugur taluk, Raichur district. According to an FIR, quoting a complaint lodged by Manayya Mallappa, a security guard, as saying, on-duty security guard Habeeb Akar noticed that a thing had fallen from a moving motorcycle, which was coming from Medanapur village side to Hutti, near the main gate of the gold mines and informed him about it. Habeeb Akar and the complainant both went near the fallen thing and found that there were a total of 16 explosive cartridges, the FIR said. It is further stated in the FIR that an unknown motorcyclist was transporting explosives, violating rules and, obviously, knowingly that they were harmful to human beings. In a release, Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri has stated that a case has been booked under Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act 1908 and Section 288 of the BNS Act 2023. He also said that the police have launched a search for the motorcyclist in different police station limits.
