The police registered a case against Manjeri MLA U.A. Latheef’s son Ameer and six others for allegedly attacking a man and vandalising his shop at Manjeri. The incident took place on March 3 night. The victim, Kooliyodan Latheef from Mullampara, Manjeri, had posted a bitter comment on the MLA’s Facebook page in response to a claim about a PWD road development project. The police said the comment allegedly provoked Mr. Ameer and his associates to attack him. The police also registered a counter-case against Mr. Latheef for allegedly wielding a knife at Mr. Ameer and his group.
